My first experience of playing golf at Hill Barn was in 1972/73, after which I stopped playing in order to raise a family and run a business. In 2003 I had heart bypass surgery and returned to golf as a way of getting fit again and the reason I am still a member 8 years later is because I love the course. It has changed quite a bit during those 8 years, most notably since being bought by the owners of Chichester Golf Centre, Richard and Sally Haygarth. We now have a course which not only looks beautiful thanks to the efforts of a great team of green-keepers, but is somewhere we are proud to entertain visiting clubs or friends. The clubhouse is warm and welcoming, we have a well stocked pro shop and the catering team do an excellent job of feeding us, whether it be coffee and a sandwich after our weekly competitions or a full roast meal for a visiting team – there is always praise from our visitors, which is a sign of good food!
